What is NepState?
NepState is a community platform for Nepalis worldwide. We connect the diaspora through a business directory, event listings, job postings, and housing — all in one place. Think of it as the Nepali internet hub.
Is NepState free to use?
Yes! Browsing the directory, viewing events, jobs, and housing is completely free. Posting listings is also free. We offer optional paid tiers (Boost, Spotlight, Featured) for businesses and individuals who want more visibility.
Which countries does NepState cover?
Currently we focus on the United States, with growing communities in Australia, United Kingdom, and Nepal. We're expanding to more countries soon.
Business Directory
How do I add my business to the directory?
Go to
Add Business, fill in your business details (name, address, phone, category), and submit. Your business will be live immediately and automatically claimed to your account.
How do I claim a business that's already listed?
Find your business in the
Directory, click "Claim This Business" on the profile page, and verify your identity. If your email domain matches the business website, it's auto-approved. Otherwise, our team reviews it within 1-2 business days.
What are the directory tiers (Verified, Premium, Spotlight)?
Verified ($2.99 one-time) — green badge, business hours, contact form, 5 photos, review responses.
Premium ($7.99/mo) — everything in Verified plus top position in category, 10 photos, homepage placement.

Can I edit my business profile after listing?
Yes! Go to your Dashboard → My Businesses → click Edit. You can update your name, description, photos, hours, contact info, and more anytime.
What is a Spotlight mini-website?
Spotlight businesses get their own mini-website with a hero banner, photo gallery, menu/services section, reviews, contact form, Google Maps, social links, and a custom URL (nepstate.com/your-business). It's like having your own website within NepState.
Events, Jobs & Housing
How do I post an event, job, or housing listing?
Click
Post Listing, choose your category (Events, Jobs, or Housing), fill in the simple form, and submit. Your listing goes live immediately.
How long do listings stay active?
Free listings are active for 30 days (admin can adjust this). After that, they expire and move to the bottom. You can always repost or boost your listing to keep it visible.
What are Boost, Spotlight, and Featured for listings?
Boost ($4.99, 7 days) — blue badge, appears above free listings.
Spotlight ($9.99, 14 days) — gold badge, homepage Spotlight section, 5x more views.
Featured ($14.99, 14 days) — red badge, homepage hero card, category popup, maximum visibility.
Can I edit or delete my listing?
Yes — go to Dashboard → My Listings. You can edit, boost, or delete any listing you've posted.
What is a "Community Post"?
Community Posts are listings added by NepState from public sources (like Facebook events or job boards). They're marked with a grey "Community Post" badge. If you're the actual organizer/employer, you can claim it by clicking "Is this yours? Claim it" on the listing page.
Payments & Subscriptions
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit/debit cards through Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). All payments are secure and encrypted.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime. Go to Dashboard → My Businesses → Cancel Plan. Your subscription stays active until the end of the billing period. You can also switch between plans or undo a cancellation.
Do you offer refunds?
Listing boosts are non-refundable since they activate instantly. Directory subscriptions can be cancelled but not refunded for the current period. See our

What happens when my boost expires?
Your listing stays active but reverts to the free tier — the badge is removed, and it drops to normal position. Your content and data are preserved. You can boost again anytime.
Account
How do I create an account?
Click "Get Started" and sign in with Google (fastest) or create an account with your email. It takes less than 30 seconds.
Can I delete my account?
Yes — go to Dashboard → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data. Active subscriptions will be cancelled.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click "Get Started" → "Forgot password?" and enter your email. You'll receive a reset link. If you signed up with Google, just use "Continue with Google" — no password needed.
